Obesity in America is a dangerous problem and is on the verge of a plague for the number of hospital visits it is causing. There are serious health risks associated with being overweight or obese. Once you have received a diagnosis of diabetes, you will need to start learning how to control the disease. It is only by controlling the illness that you can enjoy your life without some of the life-threatening complications that can accompany diabetes when left untreated. While a diagnosis of diabetes can be daunting, knowledge and a determination to take control are important to live successfully with the disease. The Diabetic Diet should eat a well-balanced diet consisting of foods from the main food groups:
