<p>The Atkins Diet, introduced by Dr. Robert Atkins in the 1970’s has spurred a legion of low-carb dieters in the United States. For two decades, millions of Americans have restricted their intake of carbohydrates following the teachings of Dr. Atkins. The diet, which was reintroduced in the book Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, focuses on the restriction of carbohydrates to 20 grams in an individual’s diet at the start of the program and then tailoring his diet to accommodate up to 40-50 grams of carbohydrates during the &#8216;maintenance&#8217; phase.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>During the first phase or the induction phase, dieters are not allowed to have more than 20 grams of carbohydrates and they also can not have any alcoholic or caffeinated drinks. They must also refrain from consuming starchy foods, bread or even fruits. There are no imposed restrictions on meats and other sources of protein and yet weight-loss is fastest during this period. Later on, more carbohydrates will be allowed in the diet but dieters will be asked to watch their intake of refined grains and sugar. By the time a dieter reaches the Maintenance phase, he would already have been used to making smart food choices and would already know the amount of carbohydrates he can consume that will keep him in top shape.</p>

<p>Proponents of the Atkins Diet claim that the program teaches your body to burn calories more efficiently and as a result is said to lessen fatigue, depression, and muscle pains.</p>

<p>Hello! I am an ordinary citizen and actually no story is generally written by any one about an ordinary person like me. However still I am writing my experience with the hope that this may encourage others to fight the curse of obesity.</p>
<p>Even a few years back, I was an obese person. Actually my obesity started from my child hood. It is true that 40 percent of teen age boys and girls in America are overweight and obese. I was also among one of them during my childhood.</p>
<p>My body weight continued to increase abnormally compared to my age and height as I grew older. At my age below 25, my body weight increased to an alarming level. This overweight made me slow, not so smart and lazy. I felt always difficulty in breathing. My blood pressure increased unnecessarily. Also there were some symptoms of type-2 diabetes in my system. Really I was scared and could not find any way to get rid of my problem of overweight.</p>
<p>Also my sexual power was reducing day by day and I felt ashamed to my beautiful wife for not being able to satisfy her sexual desire.</p>
<p>I was thinking to adopt some weight loss programs with regular exercise by visiting Gym and take a session under the instruction of an experienced person.</p>

Frank Sarcona, 58, of Boca Raton received a 20-year prison sentence for defrauding more than 130,000 customers out of $7 million by marketing a purported weight-loss drug called Libopan, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida reported Monday.</p>

<p>The Zone Diet suggests that you need the right ratio of carbohydrates to proteins and fats in order to control the insulin in the bloodstream.  Too much of the hormone (insulin) can increase fat storage and inflammation in the body (conditions that are associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease).  Sears asserts that by using the Zone Diet, you are actually optimizing the body&#8217;s metabolic function.  Through the regulation of blood sugar, you allow your body to burn excess body fat. </p>

Ecker M.D of the A.H.A. finds the Zone Diet&#8217;s theory on insulin flawed and argues that there is no scientific proof that the hormone insulin plays a big role in weight regulation.</p>

<p>4.) Probably you can work your arms about three times per week. Along with the flabby arms exercises, you will need to continue to pay close attention to your diet and practice other methods of fat loss, such as cardiovascular exercise, at least three days per week for about 45 minutes. This type of exercise will help to keep your metabolism up, making it very difficult for your flabby arms to return.</p>
