<p>This is the first weight loss tip you&#8217;re going to see in any article claiming weight loss tips. It&#8217;s because setting unrealistic goals in your weight loss program is the most common error that deters a lot of people from really sticking with it. While it&#8217;s good to have an ultimate goal, you want to set smaller goals for you to meet along the way. Setting smaller goals allows you to achieve them and get ever closer to your ultimate goal. Baby steps is the key to any weight loss program. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk right?</p>
<p>Weight Loss Tip #2: Preparation! Preparation! Preparation!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>People searching for weight loss programs and diets today seem to be searching more for rapid weight loss than permanent, healthy weight loss. Unfortunately, it is a fact that quick diet weight loss programs are seldom without their dangers, and their results usually range from erratic to nonexistent.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>I would advise anyone seeking to lose weight to substitute the term &#8216;healthy weight loss program&#8217; for &#8216;rapid weight loss program&#8217;. I hope, the following short discussion will explain my position to some extent.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>You, like so many others in today&#8217;s society, are concerned about losing weight. Like so many others, you are looking for some sort of rapid weight loss program or plan. Rapid weight loss, also often referred to as quick weight loss or fast weight loss, involves, as its name implies, losing weight in a short period of time. Claims of such programs often cite fantastic results in anywhere from two to seven days.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>In the United States, approximately two-thirds of the adult population is overweight or obese, and hundreds of thousands of these Americans are understandably interested in rapidly losing that unwanted weight. Many simply wish to lose weight before an important event, like an upcoming vacation or a wedding, while others are willing to accept the fact that permanent, healthy weight loss is a lifetime commitment.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>While it is certainly simple to understand how you can want to lose weight as fast as possible, to tell the truth, you really need to proceed with caution. Although it is possible to lose weight, or at least a small part of it, in a relatively short period of time, you should realize that there are dangers and problems associated with doing so.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>One of the many dangers of rapid weight loss is simply that which is inherent in some of the many measures that some people take. For instance, it is common to hear of individuals who have decided to fast, i.e. not to eat, while trying to achieve a rapid weight loss goal. Going without food, for even a short period of time, can be dangerous to your health. It deprives you of many nutrients necessary to health and will shortly cause your metabolism to slow down. At that point, initial weight loss will cease if it hasn&#8217;t already. At some future time, when you return to your normal consumption of calories, as most dieters do, your body will burn fewer of the calories you take in, and the excess will be stored as fat&#8230;more fat than would have been accumulated before the rapid weight loss program.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>This results in a condition in which the person now weighs more than they did before the weight loss program or diet. They attempt to lose the weight by going back on the same diet or a similar program. This time, the weight loss is harder to accomplish, the basic metabolic rate may diminish more, and the person will eventually go off the diet and gain more weight! This is a cycle often referred to as yo-yo dieting, and, as you can see, it is a self-defeating situation.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>During an extreme diet, one in which as little as two to three pounds a week are lost, the dieter can experience the loss of lean muscle mass. Lean muscle mass is the &#8216;incinerator&#8217; which burns excess calories, and its loss can only make healthy weight loss even more difficult. Additionally, with less lean muscle, the person is less likely to feel like engaging in activity which could help burn fat.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>While an actual rapid weight loss &#8216;danger&#8217; is relatively small though quite genuine, the results, or lack of same, when combined with the loss of needed nutrients do not really seem worth the effort or risk. However, be aware that in the presence of some clinical conditions or while attempting to achieve rapid weight loss through extreme measures, the danger to health, and even life itself, can be quite real.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>A WEIGHT LOSS SOLUTION</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>A better alternative to simply &#8216;going on a diet&#8217; is to cut back on the food that you do eat, particularly empty foods such as those sweetened with sugar, or heavily processed foods, or to just make sure that it is healthy foods which you are eating. Through limiting of your calories, you ought to be able to accomplish some sort of weight loss in the time that you were wanting to. However, it is very important that you do stick to a healthy eating and living plan.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>EXERCISE AND HEALTHY EATING AND LIVING</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Along with healthy eating and living practices, another important component of weight loss should always be exercise. Unfortunately, many individuals do not realize that it can take up to one week or more to notice any signs of results from exercise, and very obvious results will possibly take weeks or even months. However, in the long run, exercise, combined with sensible diet, proper hydration (plenty of water), and rest will result in a more permanent and more healthy weight loss experience.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Note, by the way, that those beginning an exercise program, particularly one which includes a strength training component&#8230;as it should&#8230;might actually notice a small weight gain at first. This is perfectly normal and is merely the result of adding lean muscle mass, which is healthier for the body, and this will help burn fat and calories. The scary part for the individual is that lean muscle mass often increases faster than they are losing fat, hence the temporary weight gain.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>With all that having been said, the good news is that the more weight you need to lose, the sooner it is that you may actually start seeing results from a combined program of regular exercise and healthy eating and living.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>While exercise should certainly be a major part of any plan for losing weight in a healthy and permanent manner, it is very important that you not overdo it. This is especially important if you haven&#8217;t previously had a regular exercise plan. Running on the treadmill for two hours, instead of twenty minutes, may burn fat faster, but, at the same time, it may also land you in the hospital. It is much better to begin at an extremely safe level and gradually work your way up to more difficult workouts than to start at some higher point just because you can and either give up because maintaining that pace is just too difficult, or because of some exercise injury.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>DIET PLANS AND WEIGHT LOSS PRODUCTS</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Another problem that should be considered when discussing rapid weight loss, is the taking of medications or weight loss products&#8230;particularly those sold off the supermarket shelf or through some magazine ad or an Internet website. The good news is that while some of these products do work a little, and some are even safe, you may not be able to tell what you are getting for your money or what it will do to your health in the long run. These products, such as the Alli diet pill, work best, if at all, when used in combination with a regular program of exercise and proper nutritional practices anyway. If, however, you are already doing that, it is fairly certain that you are losing a safe amount of weight at a healthy rate without having to pay for an additional helper which has no permanent health benefit and stops working as soon as you stop using it.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>If you think you are interested in using a weight loss product, like a diet pill or a cleanse, to help you lose weight, it is important that you do the research first. This should, at the very least, involve reading reviews of the product to learn about its effectiveness, and discusing it with a qualified healthcare professional.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>It is extremely important that you proceed with the utmost caution if trying to achieve rapid weight loss still appeals to you. Although unexpected events or appearances will occur without much notice, most individuals have at least a month&#8217;s worth of time before attending a large event such as a wedding or even going on a vacation to someplace where they wear bikinis all day. As soon as you become aware of your upcoming event, you are advised to start trying to lose weight then in a healthy and sensible manner, if you are interested in doing so.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>An even better tactic might simply to be to adopt a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition combined with exercise. Then you won&#8217;t ever have to worry about such events, and you won&#8217;t have to &#8216;diet&#8217; or try some other means of achieving rapid weight loss.</p>

This pipe dream can unfortunately outweigh the negative consequences. So let&#8217;s examine the downside of dieting.</p>

<p>What Is An Unhealthy Weight Loss Program?</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>    * Any weight loss program that is not nutritionally sound;<br />&#13;</p>

To prove their effectiveness in weight reduction, these pills are subjected to a range of clinical tests typically for monitoring health risks and side effects.<br /><b>Non Prescription Pills</b><br />&#13;</p>
<p>The Non-prescription weight loss pills are also called as weight loss supplements. These drugs can be purchased over the counter as they are subjected to minimal FDA regulation only. <p>I have had my share of battling with <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.weightloseprograms.net/" target="_blank" title="weight loss">weight loss</a>. Dieting or changing your eating habits can definitely be a pain, but I guess it&#8217;s just like everything else in life when it all boils down to it, how bad do you want change? I have never been obese, but a little overweight and at times I just didn&#8217;t feel comfortable in my skin.</p>
<p>So I went on several diets off and on over the past 10 years and the most I ever lost at one time was 20 lbs. It took me about 1 mth. And of course I gained it all back plus a little extra once I went off of the diet. Plus at the time I was taking chromium picolinate pills which was a bad idea, that stuff would have my heart racing at times.</p>
<p>But now that I&#8217;m a little older, I know that you can eat and lose weight probably twice as fast as you would on these half-starvation fad diets. And I do mean eat well. Now, I don&#8217;t believe that everyone who is overweight should lose weight, if your happy and healthy, GREAT! I know people who weight probably at least 100 lbs. more than me and can beat me if we were in a race.</p>
<p><strong>DETOXIFY</strong></p>
<p>But what I do believe is that EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE, should <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.weightloseprograms.net/weight-lose-programs/weight-lose-programs-contd-total-body-detoxification-4" target="_blank" title="detoxify">detoxify there systems</a>. I truly know and believe that the wastes we carry around in our bodies and in our intestines from the time we are born to what ever age you are right now causes a list of ailments and diseases.</p>

<p><strong>CLEAN YOUR COLON</strong></p>
<p>Not only does detoxifying the body make you feel better, but it takes years off your appearance. During your detox period, it is mandatory to take colon cleansers, especially if you are juicing. You have got to have a way to help to remove the toxins from your body.</p>
<p>Besides that, colon cleansers get down into the hidden curves and bends of the colon to help get rid of years and years of waste that has been stuck inside you. Laxatives don&#8217;t cut it, there just a quick solution to constipation and they don&#8217;t clean anything. What ever colon cleanser you choose should not be harsh at all on your system, meaning you will have an urge to relieve yourself, but they should never cause cramping or pain.</p>
<p>This is the best thing you can ever do for your body. There are also herbs you can take to help with detoxing the rest of the body.</p>
<p>If you do this for just a couple of days you will see results. Your skin will look better, more vibrant, if you have acne it will start to disappear, your energy level will be through the roof, you will also see your stomach begin to flatten, yup that area can hold alot of toxins in it. You ever see someone that was skinny every were else except there stomach?</p>
<p><strong>THE MASTER CLEANSE &#8211; Lemonade diet</strong></p>
<p>This is what I call the mother of all detox programs. The master cleanse is said to be a cure all because it scrubs, renews and rejuvenates ever single cell in your body from head to toe. Im not going to lie, this is a lot more strict then just juicing, but it is worth it.</p>
<p>The master cleanse is a 10 day regimen, but alot of people who make it to the day 10 go on to 15 or more days. What to expect: You lose 1 lb. a day of toxins and waste (also some fat), you require less sleep, energy level sky rockets, skin looks flawless, concentration and memory increases, also takes years off of your appearance and the list goes on and on.</p>
<p>I tried it twice but didn&#8217;t get past the 5th day, but in 5 days I had lost 5 lbs. of toxins, my acne was almost all gone, I looked younger and fresher and my energy level was raised. People have been known to go on this cleanse for various health problems also.</p>
<p>Im not a doctor, but lets just say that if I ever got cancer I would detoxify my system by for a couple of weeks or so by juicing and then follow with the master cleanse before I would ever think about taking getting treatments for it.</p>
<p><strong>FILTERED WATER</strong></p>
<p>One thing that diets and detox programs have in common is the water intake. The only difference is that when on a diet, the water is for flushing fat, and when detoxifying it is for flushing toxins. When detoxifying the body you want to use filtered water instead of bottled. Believe it or not, filtered water is healthier for you than bottled, plus you will save money. You can get a water filter for around $15 bucks. Drink as much as possible, at least 1/2 a gallon a day</p>

<p>A weight loss program should include all of the foods recommended by the United States Department of Agriculture and should allow the dieter to eat enough calories to keep their metabolism working full force.</p>

<p>Set goals- If the program you are looking in to wants you to write down your weight loss goals, you may have found the right diet plan. Studies have shown that by setting goals for yourself, and writing them down, you are more apt to stick with your diet and reach your goals. Try setting small goals each week (such as to eat less fat or lose 1.5 pounds), these mini goals are not as overwhelming as larger goals, like losing 50 pounds in three months, or whatever your final goal may be. Also, by achieving these smaller goals, we see that we are making progress and are more likely to continue trying than if we don&#8217;t set any.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Calories are good- Yes, all quick weight loss program rules will tell you that you should limit your calorie intake per day if you are going to lose weight. But, cutting your calories too much can actually stall weight loss just as much as consuming too many calories per day. A good rule of thumb is to eat no less than 1,600 calories per day for men and 1,200 calories per day for women. Beware that some of these &#8220;lose weight fast&#8221; diets can be very unhealthy and can cause health problems of their own.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Exercise to speed losing weight &#8211; For our bodies to gain one pound, we must consume 3,500 more calories than our bodies burn. So, for every pound we want to lose, we must take 3,500 calories from our bodies. This can be achieved by either consuming fewer calories, or by raising our metabolism by exercise. A smart dieter on a quick weight loss program will cut calories to a healthy level and incorporate more exercise into their every day routines to flush more calories from their bodies. Of course, you can overdo exercise, so moderation is key for healthy weight loss.</p>

<p>A quick weight loss program must be healthy and allow the dieter to make healthy choices. Any diet that claims that a person can lose an unbelievable amount of calories in a very short amount of time is probably going to give unsound and unhealthy advice. A dieter should not have to cut out entire food groups from their diet to lose weight. Remember that our bodies work like machines, and all food groups serve a purpose in keeping our bodies functioning at an optimal level. By cutting calories too low, doing extreme amounts of exercising and/or only eating certain foods we can actually cause our bodies to shut down and stop working correctly. Don&#8217;t fall for the gimmicks. Work hard, set goals, and believe in yourself, and you can achieve anything you set your mind to.</p>

While some of these weight loss plans are not healthy, and can even be dangerous, there are some fast weight loss diets that can actually work. The key is to find a diet plan that stresses healthy eating habits instead of indicating that a person must only eat a certain food group or cut calories to dangerous levels in order to lose the weight. Here are a few helpful hints to help you decide when searching for a diet plan that will fit your lifestyle best.</p>
<p>Being healthy is important &#8211; Fast weight loss diets should be safe or they are not worth trying. A safe diet should include all daily recommended allowances of vitamins and minerals, as well as protein and fiber. Not following nutritional guidelines can lead to malnourishment and other long term health problems.</p>
<p>Get enough calories- It is very important to not cut your calories too low. By cutting your calories to less than 1,000 per day for woman and 1,600 per day for men, you can cause irreversible harm to your body. Never go below this number per day or for long periods of time. Cutting your calories too low can cause your metabolism to malfunction, thereby stalling your weight loss efforts. It can also cause many other side effects that can do more harm than good.</p>
<p>Eating fruit and veggies &#8211; If you find fast weight loss diets that stress eating fruits and vegetables, they are probably going to work well for you while making sure you are not jeopardizing your health. Fruits and veggies provide many vitamins, minerals, and fiber which are required for optimal health.</p>
<p>Low fat is what you should aim at &#8211; Low fat diets stress the negativity of fats in the diet. While it is true that the body does need a little bit of fat every day, consuming even a moderate amount of fat per day can lead to many health problems, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and more.</p>
<p>Taking dairy product is important- low fat dairy products are actually good for you, contrary to what some diet experts say. Dairy is great for curbing the appetite, provides much needed calcium to the body. Studies show that by consuming foods such as yogurt, cheese, and milk can slow the formation of fat cells and boosts the metabolism.</p>
<p>Eat moderate meat- or at least some kind of protein. Protein helps the body to build and repair tissue and muscles, make hormones and other imperative functions throughout the body. Remember though, that too much animal protein can cause damage to some of our vital organs, and should only be eaten in moderation, if at all.</p>
<p>Be sure to research the diet you choose before deciding on any diet. As always, before trying any of these or other fast weight loss diets, it is very important to visit your doctor so that you can be sure you are healthy enough to diet in this way.</p>

<p>Even as a doctor, I am confused. I have taken all sorts of course on nutrition and health and to be quite honest it is all a little over the top for me.</p>
<p>I hear all sorts of great evidence to support eating carbs, not eating carbs, eating lots of protein and not eating any protein especially from animal products.</p>
<p>While creating more information for my blog, I can across a program that at first looked like another diet but when I actually read through the material, it absolutely blew me away.</p>
<p>The concept that you have to completely resrict what you eat and how much you exercise is completely false, and I sort of already had that feeling.</p>
<p>Heres the thing, eating more or eating less is not the key it is timing your eating so that you maximize your metabolic burn.</p>
<p>This explains a lot for me as a doctor because there are many times I have patients who say they have lots weight yet spent the last two days at a buffet table.</p>
<p>If you want to lose weight you need to cycle through consuming more food with less food. Our bodies work and function like waves they are sometimes up and sometimes down.</p>
<p>If you can figure out when to ride the wave and when not too, you have figured out the harmonic balance of the body.</p>
<p>A simple test is to spend a couple weeks exercising on a regular basis everyday doning your favorite activity, but go through periods of eating more calories followed by periods of eating less calories.</p>
<p>Monitor you weight everyday and make note of when your weight starts to drop is it on days after you eat more calories or on days when you eat less calories.</p>

Unfortunately, when someoneâparticularly someone who is overweightâtries to reduce calories, the body&#8217;s natural instinct is to assume that it is being starved, so it slows metabolism and tries to store even more calories as fat. <p>In order to understand how hCG works to promote weight loss, it is important to understand first the different kinds of fat contained within the human body. There are three basic types of fat in the human body: structural fat, normal fat, and abnormal fat. Structural fat is an important fat and necessary to survival because it protects the organs from being damaged. Normal fat is the cushioning fat that protects our feet and hands and rear-ends from impact because of the use they get. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>              The bariatric diet is what you will follow for the first 2-3 months following your gastric bypass surgery. It is something you will spend time learning about before your surgery and you should have the products in your home before you come home from the hospital. This diet has four stages that last approximately 2 months total, but then what?
<p>The first 2-3 months are going to be very structured and you will be following the gastric bypass diet that was ordered by your dietitian. But this is a very short time in the grand scheme of things. It is the next several years of your life that will determine your weight loss, whether you maintain it and if you are able to shed your obesity related health issues. </p>
<p>The first six months to a year you will lose weight without trying. The weight is going to come off just because you are not able to consume more than a quarter to a half a cup of food at any given time. You will spend a lot of this time learning about what your body will tolerate and what it will rebel against. This will be an exciting time as you see the pounds come off. You will be able to see your feet again and you will be able to do many things that you have not been able to do for years or maybe you have never done. </p>
<p>But the weight loss will eventually slow down and then stop. From this point forward, the maintenance will be on you. This is where you are going to have to put into practice everything you have learned about nutrition and fitness. You have been blessed with a healthy weight and a changed life, but it will not stay that way if you do not nurture it. If you think that because you have had this surgery that it is impossible for you to gain weight, guess again. There are forums filled with people who have gained weight after surgery and are trying to get rid of it. </p>
<p>Keep those bariatric protein shakes and tennis shoes handy. This is the best advice I can give someone that has lost weight. Exercise regularly and eat meals high in lean protein and low in fat. Eliminate sugar as much as possible. It has no nutritional value and can do a lot to sabotage your efforts at a healthy life. This does not mean you have to give up the things that you love, but you have to learn to set limits. Learning what it takes to be healthy and living by these principles eighty percent of the time will keep your healthy weight.</p>
