Obesity in America is a dangerous problem and is on the verge of a plague for the number of hospital visits it is causing. There are serious health risks associated with being overweight or obese. Here are a few of the, mostly preventable, diseases that you are putting yourself at risk for if you are carrying around a lot of extra pounds:
1. heart disease
2. stroke
3. diabetes
4. cancer
5. arthritis
6. hypertension
Losing weight helps to prevent and control these diseases and will offer you, not only an extended life, but a better quality of life.
Rapid weight loss diet programs have been around forever. But they don’t give you results that will last your lifetime. Dietary pills, dietary drinks and speical dietary foods that you have to use on a daily basis are not teaching you how to eat properly and will not have a permanent effect. The weight you lose through these methods will be fleeting. It is definitely better to choose a program that will teach you how to eat so that you can achieve lifetime results. You must also have realistic goals and not think that you can lose 30 lbs in 30 days. It just won’t happen.

It’s silly to starve yourself as you may lose the weight quickly but you won’t keep it off. Starvation is NOT a lasting method to staying in shape. The key to losing weight and keeping if off is do NOT diet! Make a lifestyle change for the better. You may lose weight fast if you starve but your body will not tolerate this for any length of time as you need food to keep up the energy you use every day.
If your body gets accustomed to you skipping several meals a day, your stored calories will be used up instead of the energy that would have been provided by eating properly proportioned meals. Then you go and eat one HUGE meal because you’re so hungry, and where does it immediately land …. on your hips, on your bottom, on your belly! Exactly where you don’t want it.
Starving yourself is NOT the answer. You have to change your way of thinking. There are better and healthier ways to lose weight and keep it off for your lifetime.
