A baby is a wonderful thing, but one thing that many women find unfortunate is the picture of their weight after giving birth! Many women find that even after they have given birth that they are carrying an extra ten or even twenty pounds, and that that can be a difficult thing to deal with, especially when they are trying to get used to a baby on top of it. If you are thinking about post pregnancy weight loss, there are a few tips that you should keep in mind.

* Get out, get active

Shortly after you give birth, you may find that you are feeling restless and antsy. One thing that many new mothers realize is that they have a lot of nervous energy, but it might not be for anything as organized as cleaning. If this is the case, grab the baby, get out and burn off the energy and the fat. It is important not to force yourself into exercising and weight loss workout when you don’t feel up to it, so simply do what feels right to your body. You’ll also find that getting out of the house can do a great deal for your energy or your mood.

* Eat well

When you are in a position to think about your eating, make sure that you are eating well. Many women take fastidious care of themselves when they are pregnant, but forget all about when the baby is actually born. Make sure that you have find options that are both appealing to you and that are high in energy and nutrition. This is a great time to introduce the concept of whole foods to your family and to introduce your baby to a whole lifetime of healthy eating.

* Take it easy on yourself!

Far too many women are overly impressed by celebrity moms who simply seem to have a post pregnancy quick weight loss and who are returned to their original trim shapes in a matter of weeks. The truth is, you’ll find that female celebrities who look great often have entire staffs that keep them looking this way. Take some time to really think about what their resources are and what your own are. The important thing to remember is that while they might have lots of people to make them look good, all you have is yourself and your own efforts, so remember to cut yourself some slack

We urge you to speak with your doctor about any new diet or exercise regimen. Set small goals for yourself and start slow when working out. When you reach a goal, give yourself a pat on the back or buy yourself a treat. You will soon have the stamina to perform as you used to; just give it some time.
